Residency
Your official residency status in Spain. I help you prepare all the required documents and accompany you to the authorities until you have your residency securely in hand.

Why It Matters
Your residency (residencia) proves your official long-term resident status in Spain.
It is required for tax purposes, employment, access to the public healthcare system, social security, and many other official procedures.
EU vs. Non-EU Residency – What You Need to Know
Residency requirements in Spain depend on where you come from.
Here’s what matters when we handle your case:
For EU/EEA and Swiss Citizens
As an EU citizen you can move to Spain without a visa, but you still need to register as a resident.
Instead of a visa or a plastic card, you receive a green residence certificate (Certificado de Registro).
The authorities normally ask for proof of income, health insurance, and local registration (empadronamiento).
You keep using your passport or national ID as your main photo ID.
For Non-EU Citizens (including UK citizens after Brexit)
If you’re from outside the EU, residency is a two-step process.
First, you must apply for the appropriate visa in your home country — for example a non-lucrative visa, work visa, or student visa.
Once you arrive in Spain, you apply for the TIE card (Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero). This is the physical residence card that proves your legal right to live in Spain. It’s usually linked to the type of visa you hold and needs to be renewed periodically.
To complete the TIE application, you must also be registered at your local town hall (empadronamiento).
